1 Samuel 20:1-42 David and Jonathan

Read and discuss : After escaping from King Saul's attempts to kill him, David now goes to his special friend Jonathan.

Q.9-What has been your basis for choosing friends? Has that led to friendships of character like David and Jonathan's?

Icebreaker:

 Question:1. When you were in high school and needed a long talk with a best friend, where di you go? 

Question 2. When growing up, did you have any secret ways of communicating with your friends?

Question 3. Do you still use coded messages?

3A. What for?  Discuss please.......

OK I will go first - Question #1- In high school my best friend was a guy named Mark, we met in the school choir .

Question#2 Mark & I  had all kinds of "buzz words" and "codes" and "inside jokes",we would quote lines from Looney Tunes all the time! We both knew every line of every BugsBunny cartoon ever made. We would constantly quote Bugs Bunny lines to each other throughout the day . One night  in the 10th grade our churches had a fellowship & it seemed everything that happened was so funny! We could'nt stop laughing the whole service, and our parents dirtiest looks could not stop us. They gave up on us that night . He was pentecostal & I was baptist.

Question #2 part 2  I'm a middle-aged adult now, and i find I still do it. Every once in a while....to my shame...me and some of my girlfriends will "rag" on a brother if he's mix-matched.

Give him a nick name like "suited & booted" & have a good laugh...or if he wears a cheap looking hair piece.....you know we'll think of a name....and he will be referred to by that name henceforth....shame on me....I know....that's why I'm online....to come clean.

...or once I was kinda ticked off at a guitar player I know  and I now refer to him as "BB Queen" cause he whines like a little girl all the time.

or the lady that goes around dressing way too young for her age.......our code will be something like "party mamma" .....ok i really do it a lot I guess.....
